REAL CLUB DE GOLF LAS PALMAS DE GRAN CANARIA
The tradition of golf on Gran Canaria began over 120 years ago. Since then it has gained in popularity and attracts thousands of golfers every year. It all began when some British expatriates in 1891 in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria founded the first golf-club on the Canaries which became, at the same time, the first one in Spain. For this project they chose a place with a view of the Calderera de Bandama volcanic crater, just about the most spectacular backdrop imaginable. The following years brought many British tourists fleeing the European winter and looking for a game of golf under the Canary sun.
Until today the Real Club de Golf Las Palmas, 18 hole, par-71, has upheld its majestic tradition with a modern course that is challenging enough for the most discriminate of golfers. Mackenzie Ross has designed a golf-course in Las Palmas that remains intriguing.
The course boasts two putting greens, practice tee and a pitching green as well as a rental service, two tennis courts and horse-riding facilities. For the perfect end to the perfect day on your Gran Canaria golf holiday, we recommend a visit to the excellent wine-cellars of the Real Club de Golf Las Palmas.
